This year's global theme, "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures," was at the heart of a well-organized event that brought together students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and guest speakers to advocate for improved maternal and newborn health. The programme commenced at 11:00 AM with a melodious welcome song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing hope and knowledge. Mrs. Mini Patiyal from the Department of Mental Health Nursing delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the day's events. Principal of BNNI, Mrs. Neetu Sharma, presented an insightful session highlighting the importance of early health interventions for building healthier futures. She emphasized the role of healthcare professionals in reducing maternal and newborn mortality rates and supporting long-term wellness for women. The event was graced by Mr. J.C. Frank, Principal of BECON, and the Chief Guest, Dr. Arun Sharma, who addressed the audience on the global health challenges faced by mothers and newborns. He urged stakeholders to work collectively for a future where every woman and child has access to quality healthcare. A special yoga session led by Dr. Sujata Sathu promoted the significance of mindfulness and physical activity in everyday life. Adding inspiration to the event, renowned sports personality Miss Drishti Pawan Sharma from J&K shared her journey of maintaining a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Renowned nutritionist Dr. Vasanta Kohli, along with Mrs. Simple Sharma, delivered an engaging keynote address on the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits, especially for expecting mothers and children.
