UDHAMPUR, Apr 7: As part of its ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking, Udhampur Police has booked a notorious drug peddler, Sushil Sharma, son of Paras Ram, resident of Kaghote, Ramnagar, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
The action was taken after formal detention orders were obtained from the competent authority. The accused was reportedly involved in supplying narcotics to local youth, thereby promoting drug abuse and posing a grave threat to public health and safety.
Police sources confirmed that multiple cases had already been registered against the accused, establishing his involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Reaffirming its commitment, Udhampur Police stated that it will continue its mission to make the district drug-free and will take stringent action against all those involved in such unlawful activities. |
