Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 7: In a significant breakthrough, police personnel from Police Station Rehambal have arrested a long-time absconder involved in a bovine smuggling case, who had been evading arrest for the last eight years. The accused, Makhan, son of Yousaf, a resident of Laswara, Bishnah, District Jammu, was wanted in connection with FIR No. 81/2017 registered under Sections 188 IPC and 3 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act. The case had been pending since 2017, and the accused had managed to avoid arrest despite continuous efforts. Owing to his prolonged evasion of law, the Hon'ble Court of Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur, had issued a warrant under Section 512 CrPC against him. However, based on reliable intelligence and consistent surveillance, a dedicated police team from PS Rehambal launched a meticulously planned operation that led to his successful arrest. Following his apprehension, the accused will be presented before the concerned court for further legal action.
