Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 7: In a focused initiative to enhance operational efficiency and reinforce public trust, the Superintendent of Police (SP) City South convened a comprehensive review meeting with MSIs, MASIs, and MHCs of South Zone. During the session, the SP South assessed key aspects of police station functioning, including the upkeep of registers, conditions of police lock-ups and malkhanas, and general preparedness at police posts. Officials were directed to maintain proper documentation, ensure cleanliness of facilities, and adopt a polite and service-oriented approach when dealing with complainants and the public. Emphasizing accountability, the SP instructed the personnel to strictly adhere to departmental guidelines, promptly respond to official correspondence, and maintain transparency in daily operations. The move is part of broader efforts to instill professionalism and people-friendly policing at the grassroots level. In a separate action under the ongoing anti-illegal mining initiative "Operation Ploughing," Police Post Phallain Mandal seized two JCB machines being used for illegal extraction. Additionally, a tipper loaded with crushed stone (bajri) was detained by Police Post Belicharana for violating Form-A regulations. The matter has been referred to the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu, for further legal action.
