Small batch of 142 Amarnath pilgrims leaves from Jammu

Jammu, Aug 09: A small batch of 142 pilgrims today left from here, amid tight security for their respective base camps in Kashmir viz Baltal and Pahalgam.
"Amid chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole, Jai Baba Burfani ' a fresh batch of 142 pilgrims including 35 sadhus, and 14 females left in a convoy of four vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp to Baltal and Pahalgam in Kashmir", an official said here.
The official added that the pilgrims proceeded for their pilgrimage via Pahalgam and through Baltal routes to pay their obeisance at holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath situated in south Kashmir Himalayas. The yatra will culminate on August 18 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
