'Incompetent' state BJP leaders kept away from Patnitop meet
8/9/2016 11:33:44 PM
ET Report
Jammu, Aug 9: By not inviting any BJP leader from J&K in the Patnitop meeting, BJP's point-man in J&K, Ram Madhav has given a clear and blunt message that all BJP leaders of the State are inefficient and incompetent to discuss Kashmir and other issues of the country. After Patnitop episode one thing has been established that BJP's Central leadership is termed all local leaders as incompetent. The Central leadership has valid reason to sideline all such inefficient leaders because during the last over one and half year, one of the BJP leader or minister has proved its credentials. By giving controversial statements, BJP leaders and ministers of J&K have proved that they are not competent enough to discuss sensitives issues like Kashmir.
Ironically, the meet was organised by Ram Madhav, who is BJP's main person on J&K, but he preferred to ignore all leaders.
According to reports in a section of media nearly 75intellectuals, who have inclination towards BJP and Sangh Parivar had attended the two day meeting of India Foundation-a pro-BJP think tank comprising journalists, thinkers and intellectuals.
Dattatreya Hosabale, joint general secretary, who assumes the third senior-most position in the hierarchy of the RSS along with Prant Pracharak of J&K RSS Ramesh Pappa also attended the meeting.
Union Minister for Textile, Smriti Irani was also present in the inaugural session but no local BJP leader was there.
Credible sources said that some BJP leaders had tried to contact Ram Madhav to participate in the meet but their requests were rejected by the organizers.
