Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 9: A patwari has been booked by the Vigilance Organization, Jammu, (VOJ), in an alleged fraud case. Pursuant to the VOJ verification into the complaint endorsed by special judge, anti-corruption, Jammu, under section 156 (3) of CrPC, wherein complainants -- Rajinder Singh, Beant Singh and Harcharan Singh - had alleged that their father Mian Singh, who died on August 9, 1998 was having occupancy rights of 10 marlas of land falling under khasra No 905 min, khata No 266 and khewat No 35 at Deeli. They alleged that a fake and fraudulent fard of the land was issued in 2012 to someone, impersonating as Mian Singh. The impersonator later transferred the land ownership to Sheraan Khan, wife of Kamran Khan, and Rajni Bala Mehta, wife of Brijesh Mehta, allegedly in league with then patwari and witnesses -- Paramveer Singh and Mahinder Singh -- in the execution of sale deed. The VOJ verification revealed that Mian Singh had occupancy rights of the land, but after his death the impersonator, in league with then patwari Shabir Ahmad Gorsi, who was looking after the patwar khana during the leave period of concerned patwari Jagjeet Singh, issued a fard in favour of the impersonator, who later sold the land through a sale deed duly executed on February 22, 2012 before the registrar, Jammu, in favour of Shereen and Rajni. The VOJ has booked Gorsi under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of PC Act Svt 2006 and sections 419, 420 and 120-B of RPC. |
