MJR-47 welcomes All party meeting over Kashmir

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 13: MJR-1947 Movement for Justice for POJK 1947 DPs refugees today welcomed the all party meeting convened at Delhi yesterday to consider the steps required to defuse the situation in the valley.
Though this is a belated initiative, but is a forum where all the parties can express their views. Much damage has already been caused where more than fifty precious lives have been lost, about 5000 are injured, some of them with grievous injuries. Business have come to complete halt causing enormous economic losses. Students are suffering due to closure of educational institutions and public in general for supply of essential domestic requirement including medicines. Any further delay to solve the issue will be a great national loss, the office bearers opined.
Geographical State of Jammu & Kashmir has three distinct regions say Jammu, Kashmir valley and Ladakh apart from POK which is under illegal occupation of Pakistan. The people residing in all the regions are the stake holders and should be heard and their views given required attention. More than 12 lakh POJK 1947 refugees who are the first important stake holder have never been heard. Even after lapse of seven decades, they continue to be the DPs awaiting relief & rehabilitation. Being first party in the entire Kashmir imbroglio they have never been made a party. Even the ethnic and religious minorities in the State particularly the Sikhs, Christian, Buddhist living in the valley are leading miserable life. They are threatened every day and their life is always under great risk. They are living in the villages at isolated places without security but still holding the national flag high. Is it not great injustice that while they have never thought of leaving valley even after mishaps of massacres of Chittisinghpura or Mehjoor Nagar but they never got justice despite appointment of enquiry commissions. The report of which has never been made public. Many families have great unemployment problems and even if they have job, they have to perform duty under threat and duress at far off places.
Such minorities are never given any employment package, no security or even facilities or incentives as are given to those who migrated from valley in 1989-90. Is it not irony that even reservation in educational institutions as being given to migrants from valley people is not extended to POJK 1947 refugees (DPs).
"We earnestly request the present dispensation at the centre to give justice to all stake holders, hear them properly and give due consideration to their suggestions. This alone can bring normalcy in the State & Justice to all", they said.
