Work of art- Krithi inaugurated

Jammu, Aug 20: Entering the 20th year of its existence in the city of Temples, a two days annual exhibition cum sale of NIFD , KRITHI...a work of art was inaugurated by Neha Bagga , a well known face in the TV industry , better known as " Rajji" of "Bani Ishq Da Kalma " fame at their NIFD campus Karan market . The budding designers of the institute worked according to their themes. In this exhibition other than their regular curriculum work students also displayed their designer creations. Fashion Design department was divided into two groups and the first group under the guidance of Neha Mahajan displayed their garments under the theme "Prakriti " They created the whole ambience as if someone has entered a valley of flowers and butterflies ,beautiful and colourful pleasing to the eyes .The second group was under the guidance of Sunita Dogra and the students under her depicted a rustic look and worked with rope and thread and giving it variant shape and form and called the section "Akriti" wherein the material was mainly the art and craft section and worked on best out of waste. They reused waste material. The home furnishing items were also displayed in this section.
Speaking on the occasion Neha Bagga encouraged the student for their hard work and innovative ideas and creations which were presented very creatively and aesthetically.
Chairperson Vanita Thakur said that this year NIFD is celebrating 20 years of successfully nurturing the best designers in Jammu , what better way to celebrate it than in our own very creative style . This exhibition cum sale which has got tremendous response, while the people of Jammu appreciating the talent of the students. She also announced a yearlong celebration and has called for all her pass out students to get in touch with the institute as there are big plans of celebrations throughout the year.
She also thanked her staff specially her Centre Manager Mamta Jena who along with her team put up this show and gave the designers a platform to think and creatively execute their ideas.The exhibition has got a very good response and will conclude tomorrow.
