In absence of mantris civil Secreteriat goes defunct

Srinagar, Aug 20: Civil Secretariat the highest seat of the government has witnessed thin or no attendance of Mantris from both ruling and opposition parties since the onset fresh uprising in valley in the aftermath of the killing of Hizb Militant Burhan Wani last month.
Sources in the civil secretariat said that the ministers have been invisible while no work has been done over the last thirty to forty days there.
They said people even in these odd times have been thronging secretariat to get their work done, despite the fact that strikes and curfews are not meant for people elected representatives.
Sources said that people who have been visiting civil secretariat express anger over absence of ministers.
"No doubt that the situation at present is grim, but given the mandate of people elected representatives they should be available in their respective offices to listen to the problems of the people," sources told 'Early Times'.
He said that not a single Minister has ensured his attendance in the secretariat for the last one month which has added to the woes of commoners.
''How long they make people suffer, they should be here as the situation in Kashmir is far from normal, either they should ensure their attendance in their offices or ask people to meet them at their personal or official residences,'' sources added.
Amir Jan Chechi, a teacher from Bandipora while talking to 'Early Times' said that he has been visiting secretariat almost regularly but return disappointed always.
"We are poor people want our representatives to address our problems, whenever I came here I was asked that there is no Minister available, how long we tolerate this, we can't put our lives in trouble to return unattended," added the visitor.
He said that the non-attendance and non-seriousness of Ministers has disappointed the visitors having high expectations with them.
Sources further said that the Ministers other than doing their work have been indulging in politics over the current situation which has severally hampered the functioning of civil secretariat for the past one and a half month.
