Chehlum-e-Hussaini observed across State 11/21/2016 9:00:13 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 21: To commemorate the greatest sacrifice of Imam Hussain (a.s) grandson of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) Chehlum was observed across the state. In Jammu, a procession was taken out from Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha. The procession passed through its traditional route lakhdata bazar, rajinder bazar, Ghaas Mandi Chowk, wazarat road and culminated at karbala complex under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu. Thousands of mourners participated in the procession to pay rich tributes to the martyrs of karbala. Imam Hussain(a.s) achieve martyrdom at karbala (iraq) with his 72 companions. He sacrificed his life for the cause of humanity, truth and values of Islam. While in Kargil district, series of processions was taken out across Kargil. The processions were taken out under the banner of Anjuman Jamiyat Ullama Asna Ashariya Kargil and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust. These processions passed through Main Bazar, Islamia School Chowk, Lal Chowk, Khomenie Chowk and culminated at Inqilab Manzil (Qatil Gah) and Hussaini Park . The mourners were beating their chests remembering the martyrs of Karbala and the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain a.s in the desert of Karbala. Keeping with the past tradition, a shabiyae zuljana and a procession of chehlum was taken out from Imam Barga Ali nagar kunfer Chanderkote. The procession of Arbain was taken out from its traditional route via national highway and culminated at karbala ground people from all the religious faiths joined the procession.
