Kathua, Nov 21: The Excise Department Jammu raided the Jeerai and lower Saktachak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor and destroyed 1000 Kg Lahan, 30 bottles of illicit liquor.
According to press release, the Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Kathua led by Arun Kumar inspector Excise under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Kathua, Mr Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer, Eradication & Enforcement Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma raided the Jeerai and lower Saktachak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 1000 kilograms of Lahan and 30 bottles of illicit liquor which was later destroyed by the team on spot.
