Jammu, Nov 21: A constable was killed in a road accident when the motorcycle he was riding on collided hit by an army vehicle at Ratnuchak area under the jurisdiction of Gangyal Police Station.
"The deceased has been identified as Constable Sachin Verma (35) son of Ajeet Ram of Khadergal Bari Brahmana posted at Headquarter 84 Battalion, BSF Reserve Police Line Jankinagar, Orissa, police said.
Police said that accident took place today afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding on hit by an army vehicle. "Army personnel immediately shifted the profusely bleeding injured to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, sources said. "During treatment, Sachin failed to respond the treatment and succumbed to injuries, sources said. They said after legal formalities, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered at Gangyal police station and further investigation is going on. |
