Five inter-state drug peddlers held with 200 grams of heroin, Rs 9.4 lakh cash

Jammu, Nov 28: In continuation to the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu, Sunil Gupta, Gangyal police today busted an inter-state gang of drug peddlers and recovered 200 grams of heroin along with Rs 9.49 Lakhs cash during a naka checking. Police spokesman said that a major success was achieved today when inter-state drug peddlers were apprehended by Gangyal Police with 200 grams of Heroin along with 7,49,000 cash. "The accused have been identified as Amarjeet Singh son of Ajeeb Sing of Mukandpur Ludhiana Punjab, Naseer Ahmed son of Gulzaman khan of Tirkanjan Teh Boneyaar Baramulla, Syed Manzoor Hussain son of Nazir Hussain of Banhalie Tirkanjan Teh Boneyaar, Baramulla, Mohd Rafiq Khan son of Ghulam Hassan of Tirkanjan Teh Boneyaar, Baramulla and Mohd Shafi son of Ghulam Hussain of Gaddapur, Shopain Kashmir, policve spokesperson said
"Acting on specific information a naka was establish at Kunjwani Peer Kanju and a Swift Dezire car bearing no DL3CBM-5745 was signaled to stop but the driver of the vehicle tried to break the naka in order to escape but the car was stopped by successfully intercepted by alert cops, police said. "Five persons were travelling in the said car and on questioning the driver disclosed his name as Amarjeet Singh son of Ajeeb Singh of Mukandpur Ludhiana Punjab", said spokesman adding that on his personal search Heroin weighing 52 grams along with Indian currency worth Rs 7 lakhs 49 thousand was recovered from his possession." Spokesman further said that 40 grams of Heroin along with 80,000 cash was recovered from Naseer Ahmed son of Gulzaman khan of Tirkanjan Teh Boneyaar Baramulla sitting on front seat with driver. While 40 grams of Heroin along with Rs 50, 000 was recovered from Syed Manzoor Hussain son of Nazir Hussain of Banhalie Tirkanjan Teh Boneyaar, Baramulla, 20 grams of Heroin along with 50 thousand cash was recovered Mohd Rafiq Khan son of Ghulam Hassan of Tirkanjan Teh Boneyaar, Baramulla and 42 grams of heroin along with 20, 000 cash was recovered from fifth accused identified as Mohd Shafi son of Ghulam Hussain of Gaddapur, Shopain Kashmir. "All the accused were arrested on the spot while contraband and vehicle as well were also seized, he added. Spokesperson said, "In this regard a case under FIR No 134 /16 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station."
Police further said that more recoveries are likely as there is every possibility of involvement of more persons from the neighbouring state Punjab.
The arrest was made by Inspector Aejaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta SP South, Shazaad Salaria.
