JK’s anti-graft bodies face political pressure to shield corrupt, says survey | | |

Srinagar, Oct 21: A survey conducted by the anti-graft watchdog Transparency International India along with the Centre for Media Studies has ranked J&K among the most graft-prone states in the country. It says that the state’s anti-graft agencies come under political pressure to shield the corrupt.
The report says that weak internal vigilance system in the government departments also cause the delay in disposal of corruption cases. “The State Vigilance Commission and other agencies deal with the cases of corruption after the concerned department failed to redress it,” the report said.
The survey has observed that the cases of corruption filed in various government departments are of ‘trivial nature’. “The tag ‘trivial nature’ implies that the cases can easily be addressed by a department with a strong internal vigilance system, but the government departments have over the years failed to do so,” the report said

Jammu, Oct 21: The top authorities of Forest department are creating rifts between Territorial Forest division employees and Forest Protection Force (FPF) to stop them from raising their voice against the administration.
The administration has succeeded in creating an atmosphere of animosity by applying ‘divide and rule’ policy. They have registered a criminal case against All Jammu and Kashmir Non-Gazetted Officers Association through a Forest Protection Force (FPF) inspector.
