There is feeling among these leaders that party has not recognized their work and give importance to a new entrants. Some Muslim leaders have been working in party since long but BJP leadership has never given them such importance. Khan in his first press conference had charged Congress with indulged into communalizing the politics to mislead and seek the votes of Muslims in particular. He said that whatever Imran Masood said in open against Narendra Modi was not just by chance. It is part of the Congress' strategy to paint BJP and Narendra Modi as anti-Muslims and its leaders have been making such communally motivated provocative statements from time to time. On the question of joining BJP, Khan stated that as a police officer "I was on duty for country's unity and security of the people of J&K".
