| Wait for 2nd flyover till 2016! | | |

JAMMU, June 25: Dreams often take long to come to true and the most cherished dream for Jammuites to get traffic chaos decongested is still far- fetched one as according to an RTI response, deadline for the second arterial way has been fixed as May 2016.
According to information available with Early Times, the construction of Bikram Chowk Flyover and widening/strengthening of road from Bikram Chowk to Convent School in Jammu city has been allotted vide. PM/JKUSDIP/ERA/J/1293-1300 Dated 04.04.2013 and targeted date of completion is May 14, 2016.
The work that commenced on May 15, 2013 has been allotted with an approved cost of Rs. 64.3 Crores and the expenditure incurred in the year 2013-14 has been shown at only Rs. 8.561 Crores.
As far as the present status of flyover is concerned, the document with Early Times reads that the foundation of 11 Numbers of piers, pier shaft 11 Nos. and pier cap 2 Nos. has been completed.
Similarly, for Road (Widening and upgradation) works, preparation of Sub-Grade 400 meters of Right Hand Side (R.H.S) slip road portion is completed.
As far as Box Utility work is considered, the document reads that Box Utility duct 26.50 meters on R.H.S Ch. 141.50 meters is completed including approach slab and Subway 9.8 meters on R.H.S slip road portion is also completed.
In case of Drainage work, the Drain duct 480 meters on R.H.S slip road portion is completed and the rest of the work is in progress and will expectedly conclude on May 14, 2016. |
