PWD Website still shows Thaseen as CE | CM's e-Governance plan falls flat | | Shiv Thakur JAMMU, June 25: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's promised e-Governance plan is yet to take off in several departments whereas in some cases it has fallen flat in the hand of high level bureaucrats who used to visit their websites occasionally. Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Jammu, Hamid Sheikh was contacted by Early Times regarding failure of his Departmental website to show him as the Chief Engineer "I have assumed charge of this office in October, last year and haven't checked the content of the website as yet but assure you updation of the website soon". Pertinently the website of the PWD is till date showing Thaseen Mustafa as the Chief Engineer of the department, however, the fact is-Thaseen Mustafa has been transferred and shifted to the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) last year as Chief Engineer. The problem with the updation of the website has left several Right to Information (RTI) activists and other concerned in dilemma about whom to contact about their grievances as other than the Chief Engineer, all names and contact details of the concerned Engineer of the Districts as well as different divisions of the department is same as it was in the previous year. As per information with Early Times, the Chief Engineer of the PWD (R&B) Department, Hamid Sheikh took charge of the Department eight months back and till now, the department has not updated him as the new Chief Engineer. How pathetic? Pertinently funds in Crores are being diverted every year from ADB, World Bank, Central Government as well as State Government for the smooth functioning of these important Departments but the officials at the helm of affairs have gone lethargic to utilize the same amount effectively. |
