Many more jolts for NC in offing | Senior leaders planning to quit | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 17: National Conference is expected to receive many more jolts shortly. After Mehboob Beg, many senior leaders of the party are planning to quit. According to the sources, the senior leaders are holding close door deliberations and could make announcement very soon. "The decision of Beg to quit shows the rot in the party and desperation which has seeped in the leadership. They know which way the political wind is blowing," said a senior NC leader. Even though Beg has not announced his joining the PDP but the fact is that he will do very soon. Sources said the senior leaders are just waiting for the public reaction to the decision and then they will also join him. A senior NC leader said the party as of now is finished and like any politicians no one wants to end his political career by being on sinking ship which has no hope of sailing. "Omar had one point agenda and it was to enjoy the power. He had his time but at the same time ensured that the party is finished by his advisors who were more interested in their personal gains rather than in the party," said a senior leader. Beg was one of the senior leaders but sidelined by the Omar's coterie was acknowledged by the CM in his tweet also. "In a speech a senior PDP leader made in the Assembly had said Omar's coterie will go in the history as responsible for finishing the party and his words are coming very true and this fact has been acknowledged by the large scale desertion seen in the party," said the leader, quoted above. "Senior leaders like Rather were defamed with sinister campaign launched by close confidant of Omar Abdullah. What you think he will do, will he remain there and end his political career by being constantly humiliated," said the leader. |
