`Eak dokha kha chukay hain, aur kha saktay nahi' | | | Early Times Report nagrota, Nov 17: Reiterating that development of Nagrota will be his only mission for next six years; Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today said the people want deliverance, not promises. Yes, Rana is right. People are not interested in hollow promises. But what can Rana do by the way? The party he belongs to is almost finished. Senior leaders are planning to quit and other forces are ready to make hay as the Sun has decided to set on NC. Fortunately or unfortunately, the men in uniform who used to play to his tunes to set things right (for NC) in Jammu are not around now. They are in the witness box facing ire of the scribes and the public so much so that political parties have started disowning them. Rana talked about NC's efforts to turn Nagrota into Nava Jammu during the past few years. But the fact is that he NC Government has not only failed the people of Nagrota but the entire state (on all fronts) during its six year (mis)rule. Not to talk of development, the people of Nagrota have suffered for mundane issues like irregular distribution of ration by the CAPD. Rana, however, admitted that the bygone years have only seen elected representatives indulging in just rhetoric rather than doing anything tangible on ground. This mindset, according to him, is needed to be reversed by focusing on perspective planning and phased development. Though Rana was talking about the sitting legislator, it applies to him as well. A commoner while commenting on Rana's comments said : "Eak dokha kha chukay hain aur kha saktay nahi." ( We have been ditched once. Now we cannot be ditched again.) |
