jammu, Feb 3: A K Thatai, the Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT), Jammu and Kashmir got promoted as the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CIT), Jammu and Kashmir. According to spokesperson, the orders to this effect were issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide F. No. A-32011/2/2013/AD-VI on 30/01/2015. "Thatai joined his new post on 31/01/2015 at Jammu as the Income Tax Office, Jammu too has been elevated as the office of the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax and Thatai has been retained the chair at Jammu, spokesperson added. Giving details, official said, "Thatai belongs to 1985 batch of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and joined as Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu in early 2012. After his joining as Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K the human face of the department was very prominently visible." Due to his effective communication with the tax payers of the state, the income tax collections also increased many fold viz. from approximately Rs 400 Crores to Rs 1100 Crores in the FY 2013-14. |
