Police on high-alert after three Lashkar terrorists barge into Katra | | | Jammu, Feb 3: Security has been beefed up across Jammu and Kashmir after three suspected terrorists were noticed in Katra. A senior police official said that they have received specific inputs that three Lashkar terrorists had crossed the International Border in Akhnoor sector to enter into the Indian territory. All the three terrorists are reportedly laden with arms and ammunition and that they have barged into Katra -- the base camp for pilgrims who visit Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. An alert has been sounded in all the districts of the state, especially in Katra, the official said. Additional security forces have been deployed in Katra and adjoining areas. He also said that Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been informed about the same and hunt to nab the militants is on. Meanwhile, sources said that terrorists can target religious places, Army posts and even schools. |
