| Search operations in Dugani, Chakli turn futile | | |

Rajouri, Feb 3: Rajouri police in collaboration with army personnel carried out a search operation in a forest in the vicinity of Dugani and Chakli villages under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajouri on the intervening night of February 2/3 turned futile. Meanwhile efforts are on to nab the hoax caller.
Sources in the department said that a caller from the area informed inspector Yash Pal Singh, SHO Rajouri Police Station about the movement of two suspicious persons carrying backpacks in the area.
Immediately after the information Rajouri police, a team of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajouri police rushed to the area and army unit operating in the area was also informed.
"Following tips of caller, the security forces launched search operation at about 8.30 pm in the target area and some houses falling in the area also were searched including that at which the suspected persons according to caller had the dinner, sources said.
The search continued till wee hours and after intensive search the operation was called off without any result.
Meanwhile SSP Rajouri Dr Haseeb Mughal termed the operation as routine search operation after an information about the presence of two suspected person and the operation was closed as nothing suspicious was found in the area. Another senior officer said that the information was found to be a hoax call and efforts are on to nab the 'hoax caller'. |
