World Cancer Day observe at SMVDU | | | Early Times Report Katra, Feb 3: Shri Mata Vashino Devi University (SMVDU) today observed World Cancer Day in which an environment cleanliness drive was launched by Radiations of Hope a cancer care initiative by Dr Deepak Abrol in association with Maharishi Dayanand Hospital with Motto Clean India - Cancer Free India. According to press release, the main aim to organize the event to aware the masses about menace of cancer and unify our efforts across the cancer care continuum. Under the Aegis of UICC Geneva the event organized by ROH finds a place on map of events. Despite inclement weather conditions people from all walks of life took part in the event. AFCONS Infrastructure ltd had extended their full support for the event. What was very inspiring was that research Scholars and students from B.Tech/M.Sc. of School of biotechnology SMVDU also joined for the cause and took part in large numbers. During the programme, people in general were taught to keep environment clean. They were advised not to throw litter on roads and roadside. Bags for use as dustbins on move were also distributed as the idea was to keep our Highways Clean. Meanwhile, the Cancer Awareness literature was also distributed. Various dignitaries present on the occasion including Shashi Khajuria Secy Dharmarth Trust Arun Chowdhary, Dr Rahul Sharma, Dr Rakesh Kumar. |
