Quiz completion held at GWC Parade | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23 :Tata Crucible Campus today organized a quiz competition at Government Women's College Parade in which 4 teams from various institutions participated. Minister of State for Education, Information & Culture, Ms. Priya Sethi was the Chief Guest on the occasion and gave away prizes among the winners and runner up team. The students of various institutions from Jammu division participated in the competition. The first prize of Rs. 1 lakh was bagged by the winning team of Ankur and Sankey of MIET College, while as second prize of Rs. 50,000 was won by Bhawik and Ankur of Central University. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the event holders and said that such events prove very useful for the students in testing their knowledge and talent. She stressed the need for organizing such events frequently to provide opportunities to the students enabling them to compete in various events across the country. She appreciated the effort of the organizers for arranging this informative event. The Minister called on parents and teachers to encourage the students to take part in such competitions. She also stressed the need for inculcating moral education to the students so that they can contribute in various philanthropic and nation building activities. Earlier, the Minister also interacted with the contractual teachers at Press Club, who are on strike demanding their regularization. The Minister listened to their grievances and said that the Government will look into their issues sympathetically and take appropriate action. |
