| Police Martyr's North Zone T-20 cricket tourney concludes | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, May 4 : 5th Police Martyrs' Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship 2014-15 concluded here today in District Sports Stadium. On the occasion, IGP Jammu Zone Danesh Rana was chief guest while DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range, Shakeel A Beig was the guest of honour.
The final match was played between AMC Gurgoan and Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur. AMC won the toss and elected to ball first. Sabhi Cricket Club scored 95 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. In reply, AMC made 96 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 16 overs and won the match. Chanderpaul Saini of AMC, who made 27 runs and also took 3 wickets, was declared man of the match. A cash prize of Rs 21,000 was given to him.
Manoj Kumar of AMC Gurgoan was declared best batsman of the tournament. Varun Khanna took the prize of Rs 21000 declared best bowler. AMC the winner team won a cash prize of Rs 2.50 lakh whereas Sabhi Gurgaon runner up team was given prize of Rs 1.75 lakh. IGP Jammu and DIG Jammu gave away the prizes to the winners and best performers. They also paid tributes to martyrs of J&K Police who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow. IGP Jammu also interacted with the martyrs' families. Among other officers SSP Kathua Neeva Jain, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, Principal PTS Kathua Sanjeev Khajuria, ASP Kathua Nasir Ahmed, Dy SP Hqrs Kathua Ajay Kumar, Dy (DAR) Kathua Kuljeet Singh were also present on the occasion. |
