| Geelani's statement on Amarnath Yatra evokes protests in Kathua | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, May 4 : Youth Congress Committee Kathua today staged massive protest demonstration at Old Bus Stand against Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani's remark on Shri Amar Nath Yatra seeking curtailment of yatra to 30 days.
The protest was led by Pankaj Sharma, member District Youth Congress who alleged Dr Nirmal Singh, Dy CM J&K's remark on AIIMS where Dy CM said the AIIMS would not be snatched from Kashmir. The protesters said Geelani and Dy CM speak same language against Jammu region.
While addressing to huge gathering, Pankaj condemned Geelani's remark on Amar Nath Yatra and waving off Pakistan flag in his rally at Tral. He said such anti-national elements should be captured instantly as these elements are harmful for humanity and tranquility of the state. He said congress will not tolerate such statements and action in future.
Ironically, Series of protest demonstration cannot be controlled by state government but Dr Nirmal Singh Dy CM J&K's Controversial remarks gave fuel to fire where he said there is no question of snatching AIIMS from Kashmir and giving it to Jammu. Congress and other Jammu based parties took the statement seriously and tried to draw out the real face of BJP before public who trusted on BJP during Assembly and Parliamentary elections.
In a statement on Apr. 25, Dy CM said the AIIMS can't be snatched from Kashmir that was criticized by all in Jammu region.
Pankaj Said irresponsible statement of Dy CM hurt the sentiments of people who believed that BJP would bring good days and good governance to people but it works adversely on aspiration of the public. He asked the difference between Geelani and Dy CM's remarks and added the both are speaking same language.
Youth Congress said DY CM contradicted the announcement of Union FM Arun Jateily who announced AIIMS for Jammu but Dy CM said AIIMS can't be snatched from Kashmir as the AIIMS is being given to the state and not to any region.
Youth Congress appealed People to know the real face of BJP who acts as Separatist and warned the protest will continue for the justice to Jammu region. Suresh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Lal Chand, Mukesh Kumar, Dheeraj Kumar and many others addressed on the occasion. |
