Rajouri: School principal, teacher accused of destroying Sericulture Deptt's nursery | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 4: Officials of the Sericulture department have approached the police against the principal and a teacher of a higher secondary school situated at Hubi (Kotranka) alleging that they after trespassing into their property/nursery have destroyed mulberry plants, roots/cuttings worth more than Rs 5 lakh by using a JCB machine. The school is situated in the vicinity of office/ nursery of mulberry in-charge Sericulture development department and the land for the construction of the school measuring five kanals has also been given by the Sericulture department.The in-charge brought the matter into the notice of Deputy Director and on his directions he has forward a letter to SHO, Kotranka police station, vide his office letter No. MCR/2015/16/Hubi Nury/18-20 dt 30/4/15, to register FIR against the principal and the teacher. Pertinently, Sericulture department had purchased 25 kanals and 14 marlas land for mulberry nursery and office purpose and out of which, on the directions from the DDC and from state government, five kanal land was given to education authorities for the construction of higher secondary school which was constructed in 2003-4In 2011-12 the then local MLA, Ch Zulfikar, now CA&PD Minister, in a District Development Board meeting had suggested to transfer the whole land to education department and give equal land to Sericulture department at another location.Since then nothing has been done and recently Deputy Director has forwarded a proposal to DDC and no action was taken in this matter till date. Mulberry in-charge vide his office letter No. MCR/2015-16/17 dt 30/42015 has informed Deputy Director that according to Abdul Haq, nursery man, posted at Huby, at about 6.30 pm the principal and the teacher Mohammad Razak hired a JCB machine and after trespassing into the nursery after damaging 50 iron posts along with barbed wire had destroyed about 500 mulberry plants, 15000 mulberry roots/cuttings costing about Rs 4-5 lakhs. Reliable sources said that the principal and the teacher had hired JCB after coming to know that the transfer remaining land is under process and they can encroach the land . Meanwhile Deputy Director Sericulture Development Department, Subhash Gupta also met with Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP and apprised him about the incident and moved a letter for necessary action in this matter."SSP has directed the SHO to take appropriate action in this matter and also directed to maintain status quo. The proposal for alternative land, in case the land was transferred to education department as was discussed in district development board's meeting, has also been submitted to DDC and still no action has been taken" said Subhash Gupta, Deputy Director .The concerned SHO was not available for comment, but reliable sources said police has started investigation in this matter. |
