DB asks for fresh status report in contradictory report over Old Age Home | | | Jammu, May 4: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Viklang Chattra Trust through its Organizer Satya Pal Saraf regarding better care of Old Age Home, the Division Bench (DB) of High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat directed to file fresh status report with a view to inform this Court regarding the complete steps taken for identifying the land as also the steps initiated for the construction of the composite homes. When the matter taken-up for hearing, AAG Ravinder Gupta on behalf of Social Welfare Department wherein a stand has taken that land measuring 16 Kanals situated at Village Bhalwal has been identified for construction of composite home and in regard to which some steps have already been taken by the Revenue Filed Agencies. Division Bench after going through the status report observed that nothing has been stated with regard to land for construction of a similar composite home at Srinagar and further observed that this report appears to be contradictory to the earlier filed by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu wherein it was stated that 16 Kanals of land has been identified in Tehsil Nagrota Village Sri Khurd and Panjgraina and a similar chunk of land at Samboora Tehsil Pampore. With regarding to confusion created between the two reports, Sr. AAG Seema Shekhar undertook to clarify the stand by next date of hearing while Division Bench directed respondents to file fresh status report as also the steps initiated for the construction of the composite homes.
