Sunil inaugurates Panchayat Ghar for Drab

KISHTWAR, May 4: To redress the grievances of the people living in far flung and remote areas of the District Kishtwar, Minister of State for PWD and Revenue Sunil Sharma today chaired a Public Darbar at Government Higher Secondary School Galigarh and inaugurated a Newly constructed Panchayat Ghar for Drab Panchayat in Sarthal area that has been constructed by Rural Development Department at cost of Rs. 20 lacs. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javaid Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Yougal Manhas, besides ADDC Kishtwar, ACD Kishtwar, XEn PHE Division Kishtwar, XEn PMGSY , XEn PDD, XEn Irrigation and other District , Sector officers and a huge gathering of people attended the Public Darbar. While inaugurating the Panchayat Ghar for Drab Panchayat, Sharma appreciated the quality work done by the RDD in construction of the community asset for the benefit of PRI's, it was revealed that construction work on 32 Panchayat Ghars is going on and soon will get completed. Addressing the Public Darbar at Galigarh,the minister said that Government is committed for the development of rural areas and efforts are being made to provide all the basic amenities to the people living in remote and far flung areas. He said road connectivity being the backbone and prime requirement for multi-round development of any region. He said Government has taken up the initiatives to provide better road connectivity, adequate drinking water and power supply, strengthening and uplifting educational standards and infrastructure in rural areas and improving health care delivery system. He said all the initiatives and measures taken by the Government will take a little time to get visible on ground, and asked the people to have patience and then reap the fruits of development. Regarding the issue of development of Galigarh as a tourist attraction destination, Minister sought the cooperation of the people and donate land adjacent to the Galigarh water stream so that it could be developed as a Picnic spot which will have Parks, Huts, beautification work etc. he said that an amount upto Rs. 50 lacs to Rs. 1 Crore will be provided by the Government for the creation of tourist attraction Centre if the land is donated.
While culminating the proceedings of the Darbar, Sunil Sharma said that the process of organizing Public darbar will continue on so that the grievances of people are redressed at their doorsteps in a time bound manner.
