Govt uplift socio economic condition of SC, ST, BPL: Zulfkar | Dalit Chetna Manch celebrates Lord Buddha, Ambedkar Jayanti | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 4: All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch today organized a function to celebrate Lord Buddha and Baba Saheb Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti in a function organized in the premises of Guru Nabha Dass Community Hall at Dogra Hall here today. On the occasion, the Minister for CA&PD Ch Zulfkar Ali was the chief guest while MLA Chamb, MLA Samba and President All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch also shared dais with the chief guest. While inaugurated the function with the lightening of lamp, the Minister throw light on the significant role played by Baba Sahib for the welfare of the weaker section, poors and Downtrodden. He recalled Baba Sahib Dr B R Ambedkar as a great social reformer and legal luminary who played a pivotal role in framing the constitution of India. He also remembered Dr Ambedkar's great contribution in public welfare, upliftment of the poor, downtrodden and weaker sections of the society. While referring to demands of All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch, the minister assured that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a phased manner.As per the commitment of the coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, the CA&PD Minister said that govt will uplift the socio-economic condition of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and below poverty line people also. Earlier All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch presented a chatter of demands to the chief guest for early redressal of demands and also including Provision of Reservation in contractual adhoc appointments ReT'S, ReZ'S, NRHM, Anganwadi workers/ Helpers, Representation in Legislative Council and due share in Council of Ministers, changing of Nomenclature, Provision of Colonies for houseless, landless poor scheduled caste families, Constitution of State SC/ ST Commission, etc. |
