Further, the Union Government has taken strong exception of failure of the state government in delivery of food grains & LPG at school doorstep which in turn is hampering the teaching of the teachers engaged in picking up food grains and LPG from nearest centre however state government has given the excuse that only teachers in the hilly areas are facing this difficulty and there is no problem in delivery of food grains in the urban and sub-urban areas. The report also reads that the officials in Education Department have assured that State will talk to FCl & LPG officials at State level for ensuring that food grains & LPG are delivered at School doorstep, so that teacher's teaching work may not hampered / suffered in any circumstances. Priya Sethi, Minister of State (MoS), for Information, Education and Culture, when contacted over the pending liabilities of Rs. 433.30 lacs with Education Department puts the onus on the previous NC-Congress government and alleged them of misappropriation of funds despite heavy flow from the centre for the implementation of central schemes in Jammu and Kashmir. She said that the funds released by the centre for the construction of toilets under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan schemes didn't reach on ground and the in most of the schools no toilets have been constructed due to the negligence of NC-Congress coalition government. Sethi assured that everything will be put on track within the limited period of time Commissioner Secretary, Education Department, Jammu and Ksahmir, Shaleen Kabra refused to comment on the liabilities on cellphone and asked this scribe to call him on the landline number of Commissioner Secretary office but the same was not accessible due to reasons best known to Commissioner Secretary, Education Department. |
