Sangarsh suspects political pressure behind SIT's slow investigation in BGSBU scams | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 25: Sangarsh-A Civic Movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood suspects a political pressure mounted upon the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to carry the investigation freely and in unbiased manner. Pertinently after the scholarship scam and other irregularities in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri were came into surface, the SIT was formulated under the supervision of SSP Rajouri (with DySP Rajouri as the officiating in charge to unearthed the scam and tighten the noose on the culprits. General Secretary of the movement Dr Suresh Kumar in a press statement issued today alleged when it is evident that the Registrar of the universities remains the signatory authority in most of the financial transaction and in approving the scholarship cases in consent with the Vice Chancellor as per the BGSBU and University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi's guidelines. "In this case also, the same chairs heading the administrative and the financials dealing and hence misused their official powers in giving undue benefits to their favorite ones besides filling their own pockets, he said. He also alleged that SIT instead of taking direct action against these two top officials of the university is enquiring only the low ranks that raises a finger of suspicion over SIT that some political pressure is mounted upon it just to give space to main culprits. Dr Suresh assured the SIT that the people of Peer Panjal and the Sangarsh movement are with them in every step in taking out all the scams and other misdoings of the university. The movement further urged upon the SSP Rajouri to be vigilant and cautious so that no one can distort the truth. |
