Seven rescued from flash floods across Jammu region | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 25: Seven persons trapped in River Tawi in Jammu area and Rajouri district in Flash floods triggered after incessant rains in upper reaches were rescued by police during rescue operations launched across the Jammu. Police sources said that today due to heavy rain in upper reaches the river Tawi witnessed the flash flood in which three persons got trapped near Sidhra bridge who later were rescued with the help of police and civilians "Rescued persons have been identified as Balbir Singh son of Anar Singh of Shakti Nagar, Parshotam Lal son of Om Parkash of Janipur, Jagdish Raj son of Bua Ditta of Raipur Mandi and Jamat Ali son of Khasm Din of Dansal who is driver of Tractor bearing registration number JK14C-4959 which still is stuck in string water currents,” police said. Meanwhile, police sources said, "On the intervening night of June 24/25, three persons namely Muneer Hussain son of Wali Mohd, Mukhtar Ahmed son of Maqbool Husssain and Zulfqar Ahmed son of Maqbool all residence of village Androllah under the jurisdiction Police Station Rajouri trapped in flash flood, while crossing the river near Dhanwan, Chingus alongwith 10 animals." Sources said, “SI Mohd Fareed, in-charge police post Chingus launched a rescue operation under the supervision of I/C SDFR Rajouri DySP Jabeen Lone and SHO Rajouri Inspector Yashpaul Singh alongwith police party/SDRF team and after hectic struggle saved the precious human lives. During search operation police team also sought help and technical assistance from the local army unit and the civilian, police sources added. |
