PDD daily rated employees begin hunger strike, seek regularization 6/26/2015 12:08:45 AM Early Times Report KATHUA, June 25: The agitation of daily rated workers of Power Development Department (PDD) who were on strike for the fortnight today got aggressive as they kick started hunger strike to redress their pending demands for regularization and regular remuneration. Sat Paul, who was on hunger strike said they are working for several years in the department on low wages without any laxity in work but government does not take any serious step to regularize hundreds of employees who have completed 7 years of their services as daily rated. Suresh another employee appealed Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh to intervene in the matter and said Deputy CM was himself government employee and he can better understand the sufferings of government employees and must take favorable step to mitigate their sufferings and miserable life. Meanwhile, Kathua unit of Congress today extended support to the strike of PDD daily rated workers.
