15 bovine animals rescued, one held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 26: Police today foiled two separate bovine smuggling bids and rescued fifteen bovine animals in two different cases of P/S Kud and P/S Udhampur. Police have arrested one bovine smuggler while manhunt is on to nab the other accused. Police said, "The accused has been identified namely as Mohd Bashir S/O Fatey Mohd R/O Third Tehsil and District Udhampur>" "Based on reliable information, a Police party of P/S Kud led by Inspector Raghubir Singh, SHO P/S Kud laid a surprise naka near Kud NHW in the wee hours and intercepted a 407 vehicle bearing Registration No. JK14B-0366 and rescued eleven animals loaded in it. Police arrested the driver of vehicle Mohd Bashir on the spot and seized the vehicle. Meanwhile a case under FIR No. 48/2015 U/S 188/RPC 3PCA Act stands registered at P/S Kud against accused. In a similar incident a Police party led by SI Purab Singh, I/C PP Roun Domail under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka in the wee hours and intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No: JK06-1532 and rescued four animals. Driver of the vehicle on seeing Police abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot, police said adding, " the vehicle was seized and a case under FIR No. 224/2015 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Udhampur in this regard." |
