Simula, Patel Club win in Chevrolet Cup 6/27/2015 11:16:05 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, June 27 : Simula Cricket Club (SCC) and Patel Cricket Club (PCC) emerged winners to strengthen their positions in respective groups in the ongoing league round of the Chevrolet Cricket Cup Tournament at KC Public School ground, here today. In the first league match of group-C, Simula registered a four wickets win against National Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC). Batting first, after winning the toss, NCCC made 124 runs in 19.4 over losing all their wickets. Rahul Mussa and Ashu were main scorers with 32 and 20 runs respectively. Aman Singh remained the most successful bowler with three wickets while Kuldeep Singh took two. In reply, Simula chased the 125 runs target in 18 overs losing six wickets. Puneet Kumar scored highest 41 runs while Shashi contributed 39 runs. Ram Dayal took two wickets and Manjeet bagged one from SCC. Puneet Kumar was declared man of the match. Meanwhile, in another match of group-A, Patel Cricket Club (PCC) trounced Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence (YSCE) comfortably by eight wickets. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, YSCE could make 93 runs. Dikshant and Vivek were main scorers with 24 and 23 runs respectively. From PCC, Varinder secured two wickets and Abhinav bagged one. Later, Patel Cricket Club chased the target of 94 runs in just 12.5 overs that too with eight wickets in hand.
