| Take people of Jammu into confidence to resolve K issue | | J&K a settled issue | |

Jammu, June 27: United States has been puting pressure on India to start dialogue with aggressor Pakistan to resolve all the outstanding issues between the two nations, including the so-called Kashmir issue. The US pressure and the Agenda of Alliance, which was signed by the BJP more than three months ago to enable the state unit of the BJP to come into power in J&K, have emboldened self-styled freedom fighters in Kashmir like APHC-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. They have urged both India and Pakistan to take Kashmiri Muslims into confidence to resolve the Kashmir issue, saying the Kashmiri Muslims were a "natural party to the Kashmir dispute".
"India and Pakistan should take people of Kashmir into confidence and start a result-oriented dialogue for unbiased and honourable solution to Kashmir issue," Mirwaiz said the other day after a joint meeting of its executive and general councils, held at the Mirwaiz's Nigeen residence in Srinagar. He also termed the "animosity" between India and Pakistan as a "lurking threat to peace and prosperity of the region" and said "resolution of all outstanding issues, especially Kashmir was imperative to end the prevailing uncertainty", adding that "any confrontation between the two Nuclear-armed neighbours can be devastating for the region".
The suggestion of the Mirwaiz, who, like other Kashmiri secessionists, has a limited pocket of influence in Srinagar city, that India and Pakistan should take the Kashmiri Muslims on board before taking any decision on the political future of the state is as provocative as it is seditious and against the aspirations of the nationalist people of Jammu region and Ladakh. He, like other secessionists in Kashmir, does not represent the general will of the people of the state.
The people of Jammu region and Ladakh have nothing to do with him and others of his ilk in the Valley. They were, and are, committed to India and they have proved their commitment to the nation umpteen times during the past 67 years through their words, actions and sacrifices. It was because of their splendid role that New Delhi maintained its position in the state and they continue to be at its back and call even today. "We shall never compromise our stand on J&K vis-à-vis New Delhi as the BJP did in February-March this year to enjoy power in the state" has been their stand. "We are also the only factor in the state of J&K as we have made many supreme sacrifices to maintain the unity and integrity of India and defeat the Kashmiri separatists" has been their other stand.
The BJP-led government at the centre would do well to appreciate the nationalist feelings of the people of Jammu region and Ladakh and initiate action against the likes of Mirwaiz who are traitors and Pakistan agents having no right to speak for the people of the state. Any move on the part of the BJP government at the Centre to give credibility to the Mirwaiz and similar other Kashmiri separatists would only provoke major nationalist explosions in Jammu and Ladakh, which would not only result in the complete destruction of the BJP in J&K but would also end its influence in the rest of the country, where it is already at the receiving end because of the BJP ministers' acts of omission and commission and where even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become quite unpopular because of very soft attitude towards the tainted and corrupt BJp ministers in the Union Government and in the states like Maharashtra and Rajasthan. |
