SRINAGAR, June 29: In a significant initiative aimed at a shift towards digitization, the Information Department has decided to distribute government advertisements to the empanelled newspapers online. "We are giving final touches to the IT-enabled mechanism for online distribution of advertisements and the same would be in place soon," said Muneer-ul-Islam, Director Information and Publicity, J&K Government. He said besides making distribution of advertisements to newspapers a paper-less task, the new mechanism would also ensure accountability and transparency in the process. As per the IT-enabled system, each newspaper in the State would get a dedicated username for logging in to the advertisement distribution website of the Information Department and download the advertisements to be published by the said paper on a specific date. "It will function on the same pattern as is in vogue in DAVP, but the Information Department's website would be more versatile and user-friendly with adequate security safeguards," said the IT Consultant responsible for designing the new advertisement distribution site of the Information Department. |
