BJP defends Lone for pro-RSS remarks

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 29 BJP today defended separatist- turned-minister Sajjad Lone, who has kicked up a controversy by his comments that allegations against RSS are a "propaganda", saying he had said nothing wrong.
"There is nothing wrong in what Sajjad Lone said with regards to contribution of RSS in Jammu and Kashmir," BJP leader and MLC Surinder Ambardar said today.
"The fact is that almost every politician as well as separatists had been visiting Jhandewalan (RSS headquarter in Delhi) especially after V.P singh's government," he told reporters here.
Lone, the Minister for Animal Husbandry and Science and Technology, had said in an interview recently, "RSS was here much before. They have every right to come here if people accept them. What is the problem? It takes ages to make inroads. It's all propaganda."
The People's Conference leader was also quoted as saying, "I liked BJP since Vajpayee's era. I was close to that setup.
They really took care of me, especially regarding my security.
I played a very big role behind the scenes...I had the time to contribute and make way for dialogue process. Because of all this I was labeled as Indian here."
Describing Lone's stand as "pragmatic and realistic", Ambardar said RSS' "vision and mission of serving the humanity is serving almighty and it is globally accepted. So there should not have been any debate on it."
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday last had targeted Lone. "And for this all Sajaad got was a few sheep & goats to look after! I'm sure the RSS will help next time around," he had tweeted.
