Now, un-identified persons use darkness to harass journalist in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 30: Un-identified persons last evening harassed senior journalist Majid Hyderi by trying to force their entry into his house in Pir Bagh locality of south City here. The incident happened at around 8:30 PM Monday when Majid had just returned from nearby Masjid after offering Maghrib Salah. "As I returned from the Masjid and barely took a rest, there was repeated knocking on our main door. When my mother inquired 'Kaun Hai?' there was no reply and instead the banging grew… Now my sister too asked 'Kaun Hai?' but the banging grew louder and faster as if someone wanted to break open the door," Majid said. "I didn't find it correct to open the door and confront but managed to see from beneath the door shadow of someone roaming on the veranda and banging the door," Majid said adding by now he signaled his family members to climb upstairs for safety. "This continued for some five-six minutes and every time someone wanted to break open the door." Amid a subsequent frightening calm, the scribe climbed upstairs and raised an alarm from window. "A neighbor rushed in… But we couldn't find anyone outside," the scribe said. While Majid has filed a complaint with Police Post Humhama, police said the matter would be looked into. Just last week unidentified goons thrashed a journalist in Nowhatta locality of downtown when he was discharging his professional duties. |
