Nephrology Dept organizes awareness camp | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 30: Department of Nephrology Government Medical College Jammu today organized an awareness progarmme regarding the role of hypertension and kidney diseases. Dr SK Bali, Head of Nephrology Department delivered key note address regarding the prevalence of high blood pressure and its effect on the major vital organs including Kidneys, Brain and Heart. The burden of high blood pressure in Indian is estimated to be 85 million Patients now as is projected to go upto 107 million in 2025. Dr SK Bali informed the gathering that at least 1 in 5 adults have high blood pressure in Indian and 25 percent in urban and 10 percent in rural area suffer from high blood pressure. Unfortunately, large no of people are not aware of the disease until it well advanced. In addition to diet control, weight reduction and physical activity spirit. Control of blood pressure can be achieved by the use of various groups of medicines particularly in combination. Control of blood pressure by various drugs can help in avoiding lethal complications like Real failure Stroke and heart attack ACEI, ARBC, CCB and blockers in single or combination of new drugs used for control of blood pressure.
