Dulat popped by Abdullahs' to discredit Mufti Sayeed | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 3: The book on Kashmir by former RAW chief AS Dulat which has critical take on the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has apparently been written and timed to help the beleaguered National Conference. Dulat, once considered the point person of the PMO on Kashmir during Vajpayees' time, when Omar was the junior cabinet minister, was forced to move out of the Kashmir during the outgoing parliamentary elections on the instructions of the former PM Manmohan Singh, as his presence thought to be for helping the NC was brought to the notice of the ex-PM by Mufti Sayeed himself when he had informed him in a telephonic call. The fact that Dulat always sided with the Abdullahs' is reflected by the fact when he had written that Mufti had a complex about Abdullahs' and held them in awe. However, factually it's the reverse as Abdullahs' especially Dr Farooq and Omar were nervous by the Mufti Sayeed from the beginning as they knew that only this man can topple them. Dulat, who had given a critical statement about the Mufti recently in an interview, has been apparently popped up by the Abdullahs' to further politically discredit Mufti Sayeed for aligning with the BJP. It become revealing by the fact that when he had written that former PM Vajpayee had asked the Congress president Sonia Gandhi not to align with the PDP . Dulat had even said in an interview that Vajpayee even objected to the presence of the Mehbooba Mufti at a rally addressed by him in the Valley, The fact is contrary to it. The fact is that BJP always always trusted PDP more than the NC as NC especially Abdullahs' continued to have things done for their favour by the Centre by blackmailing it and by giving statements which were critical to the India and Omar Abdullah also did the same when he had even questioned the accession. "The NC is trying desperate measures to discredit Mufti Sayeed at the earliest and is trying to target it for aligning with the BJP. As it feels that the longer stay of this alliance in the power will leave the NC politically redundant," said a senior official. |
