Owners move court, seeking restoration of land | Alleged grabbing of 342 kanals of land by daughters of ex-minister | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 3: Owners of 342 kanals of land that falls under khasra No 1 at Chak Lallo Shah near 4th bridge in Niki Tawi area here today filed a Miscellaneous Petition in PIL in the high court, seeking restoration of their possession on the land which is under the alleged illegal occupation of three daughters of former PHE and Health Minister Taj Mohiudin. The owners included Kamni Gupta, Geeta Gupta, Archana Gupta, Laxmi Gupta and Romi Gupta, all daughters of Hem Raj and Chanchal Gupta of Mohalla Partap Garh. In the petition, it is submitted that the issue of land grabbing by politicians, police officers and bureaucrats in league with land mafia is pending before the division bench and the applicants are suffering at the hands of influential politician and ex-minister Taj Mohiudin and are seeking intervention through the present petition. It is further stated in the petition that the applicants are lawful owners as share holders of land measuring 342 Kanals that falls under Khasra No 1 at Chak Lallo Shah and it is reflected in the unlawful occupation (Kabza Na-jaiz) of Shabnam Taj, Nousheen Taj and Arshi Taj, all daughters of Taj Mohiudin. The applicants have further submitted that in para 18 of the PIL the whistleblower has highlighted the brazen case of grabbing of proprietary land of the applicants by none else than the three daughters of Taj Mohiudin. The revenue record of the above referred land fully demonstrates that the land is duly owned by two brothers Tilak Raj and Hem Raj (Uncle and Father of the applicants) but at present the Khasra Girdawari reflects the illegal occupation of the ex-minister's three daughters. The petitioners have submitted that the recorded occupants, ie the daughters of ex-minister are in fact benami and the real actor is Taj Mohiudin who is highly influential person. The matter was complained and brought to the notice of the officials of Revenue Department by the predecessors of the applicants but the result was disappointing and to the misery of the applicants, the ex-minister continues his wrongful occupation. The applicants have prayed in the miscellaneous petition that they be permitted to intervene in the matter and appropriate directions be issued to the enforcement agencies, ie revenue and police directing them to liberate the land in question from unlawful occupation of Taj Mohiudin and his three daughters. |
