Role of a senior BJP leader under scan for trying to shield some tainted officers | Sacking of 63 corrupt officers: | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 3: While as State Government has sacked 63 corrupt officers in one stroke but role of the senior BJP leader came under scanner for his "cordial relations" with some of these corrupt sacked officers. A section with BJP has already brought this matter to the notice of the party leadership to settle score with that senior leader. Credible sources in a senior BJP, who is known for the his proximity with police officers and bureaucrats as well as politicians of rival parties, had tried his level best to protect some of these sacked officers but he failed to do so. The politician not only failed to protect some corrupt officers but he was also exposed before the party leadership for shielding the officers against whom case of corruption has been established. Credible sources said that the BJP leader in the discussion took one of the sacked officers before a Cabinet minister, who also belongs to his party, and asked the minister to appoint this officer on an important position. The senior leader, who is called by rival as power broker, had tried to convince his party minister that the said officer was very efficient and his deployment on important position would help to run the department smoothly. "As the Minister had already got feedback about that scamster officer, he had not given any assurance to his senior party leaders about accommodating the same officer", sources said and added that the said officer was sacked on Wednesday. Sources said that the said BJP leader had not made abortive attempt to protect that officer, he also tried to save about half a dozen other tainted officers. "The BJP leader had also approached some PDP ministers to save some tainted officers but of no avail", sources said and added that matter was also brought to the notice of senior BJP leader. |
