Will submit status report of CET-2010 to High Court soon: IG Crime | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 3: A day after the J&K High Court directed the Crime Branch to file latest status of the investigation ordered earlier in 2010 CET paper leak scam, the senior official of investigating agency today said enquiry into the issue is on in full swing and the status report shall be submitted before the Court very soon. Inspector General of Police (IGP-Crime) Muneer Khan said the inquiry ordered into the paper leak scam is going on and that not much time would be required to file the fresh/latest status report of the investigation into CET paper leak scam of 2010. While talking to Srinagar based news agency, Khan said, "After the inquiry into the CET 2012 Scam was completed and challan was produced before the court of law, investigations into the CET 2010 were also initiated." 'I can only tell you that it will not take much time to submit the report before the court," Khan said. However refusing to divulge much information about the status of the investigation, he said, "The investigations are on and some persons are also being questioned over the issue." Pertinently, High Court on Thursday had directed the Crime Branch to file latest status report of the investigation in 2010 CET paper selling scam in the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE). The court also sought details on how the investigating agency closed the probe into 2009 and 2011 CET. Hearing a Public Interest Litigation, a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey asked the CB to file the investigation report by the next date of hearing while it adjourned the case for four weeks. |
