10 days on, Nowshera villages without mobile connectivity | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 5: Irate over the BSNL authorities for not providing mobile connectivity for the last ten days, inhabitants of several border villages in Nowshera tehsil held a mass protest demonstration. Protesters led by Purshotam Lal , sarpanch Khamba village alleged that at the end of the month they are getting telephone bills but the BSNL has failed to provide them regular telephone services. He added people have been facing many difficulties in contacting their relatives and to know their well being. They alleged that whenever they contact concerned BSNL official only one answer is available with them, i.e OFC has been damaged that resulted closing of the signal towers. They said that senior officers have been informed about the damage to the OFC and waiting for a team of technicians from Jammu. "It is not our job to call the technicians from Jammu. It is the duty of the department to make early arrangements for the team of technicians" said Purshotam Lal. Raising slogans against the officials of the BSNL protesters warned the concerned officials to mend their casual approach towards the problems being faced by the subscribers otherwise they will face the ire of the people and for any consequences they will be responsible. |
