Jammu, July 5: Violating the ceasefire once again, Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing in Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The firing, which started around 7.00 PM and continued till 20 minutes, targeted three Border Security Force (BSF) posts in the region. BSF jawans retaliated to Pakistani firing with equal firepower. No report of any injury on the Indian side was received till the filing of this report. Pakistan's violation of the ceasefire comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Russia on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. Modi will be in Ufa from July 8 to 10 July to attend BRICS and SCO Summits. Sharif is also expected to attend SCO Summit. Both India and Pakistan are observers in the six-nation SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) which comprises China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. |
