PDP expresses concern over RTI revelation regarding library books | | | Jammu, July 5 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed concern over a recent RTI revelation, regarding defaulter list. Addressing media persons, Vikram Singh along with Chaman Angral said it was very unfortunate to hear that senior bureaucrats and six former Vice Chancellors of Jammu University are amongst the top officials who have not returned books taken from the Central Library as heads of Jammu University are amongst the most defaulter list. Vikram Singh said same condition is here as in the ancient Maharaja Ranbir Singh Library as the concerned authorities of Central Library failed to terminate or suspend the primary membership of defaulters not give any notice to defaulters to return the books to the Central Library of Jammu University. Vikram Singh said that there are 4,41,839 books were present in library but they don't know how much books were missing out of stock and how much books has been damaged from the Central Library of Jammu University. Vikram Singh urged Governor NN Vohra the Chancellor of Jammu University, to direct Vice Chancellor to take immediate action against the defaulters and the concerned officers so that in future such incidents didn't take place. |
