Militant killed six family members of deceased

Kishtwar, July 28: Kishtwar police today recovered the Torso of a 25 year old missing person kidnapped by the Hizb militants 9 year ago from his home in Kither area of Kishtwar District.
As per the details available with "Early Times", on the basis of the specific input Kishtwar police party led by Madan Lal, Incharge police post Jawalapur Bhunzwah under the supervision of Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Touseef Ahmed rushed to the spot inside deep forest of Kither Bhunzwah, once known as "Hill Kaka" of Kishtwar District situated at an altitude of over 13000 feet having mass presence of militants till 2010 and found the Torso of an unidentified person along with some decomposed cloths and shifted the same to District Hospital Kishtwar for autopsy of the Torso to ascertain the cause of the death of the deceased.
During the course of the investigation, many people were asked to identify the cloths recovered from spot and on identification it was found that the Torso was that of Mohammad Ashraf son of Deen Mohammad Sheikh resident of Battu Keri Kither in Bhunzwah Tehsil of Kishtwar District who was kidnapped by Hizb commander Shah Din Khandey in February 2008 and since then he (Ashraf) was untraceable to the family.
While talking to "Early Times", the relative of the deceased (Name withheld) said that Mohammad Ashraf was kidnapped by the then Hizb Commander and others, now dead from his home on the allegation that the deceased was working as an informer with the army and police. He said that since then Ashraf was not traceable and today his Torso was found from the forest area which is far away from the local population, added that militants also killed the elder brother, two sister in laws (Babhi), two sons of his elder brother and brother in law (Jeja) in 15 years of militancy before Ashraf was kidnapped by the militants in February 2008.
Meanwhile Kishtwar police registered an FIR against persons involved in kidnapping of Mohammad Ashraf and started its investigation. The preliminary investigation reveals that the deceased Mohammad Ashraf was hit with some object on his back side of the head which might be the cause of his death; however the actual cause of the death could only be ascertained only after examination of detail autopsy report. SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas also examine the recovered Torso and issued necessary direction to police officials with regard to investigation of the case.
"It is matter of investigation whether all the persons or militants involved in kidnapping of the deceased are dead or alive" said a senior police officer.
It is pertinent to mention that Kither Forest area was once dominated with heavy presence of local and foreign militants as the area was considered as safe haven for the militants.
